Governor Sani: Judiciary Key To Addressing Insecurity In Kaduna State

Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has emphasized the judiciary’s critical role in the fight against insecurity, highlighting that delays in prosecution only serve to embolden criminal elements. Speaking at the swearing-in of Justice Jafaaru Zubairu as a new State High Court Judge at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Governor Sani stressed that to effectively combat criminality in Kaduna, both prosecuting agencies and the judiciary must prioritize swift and efficient legal proceedings.
The governor pledged his administration’s commitment to improving the working environment for judicial staff, strengthening public trust in the judiciary, enhancing access to justice, and promoting continuous education for judicial officers. “I am dedicated to fostering a collaborative relationship with the judicial arm,” he affirmed, vowing to “promote and ensure that justice delivery remains aligned with the law.”
Governor Sani also highlighted his administration’s commitment to revitalizing the justice sector, aiming for an efficient criminal justice system crucial to building a stable, secure, and democratic society. He urged Justice Zubairu to deliver justice without delay, stating, “Justice delayed causes harm to victims, the accused, witnesses, and the public.”
Commending Kaduna State’s judiciary, which he praised as among the best in Nigeria, Governor Sani called on the judges to remain steadfast and uphold their role as the last hope for the common citizen.
