[FULL LIST] CAC Delists Over 80,000 Dormant Companies, Including Dunlop And Mitsubishi

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has delisted over 80,000 companies from its register for failing to file their annual returns for a decade. This action follows a three-month grace period issued in July 2024, during which the affected entities were urged to update their records to avoid removal.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the CAC explained that the delisting was conducted in accordance with Section 692(4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020. Companies that complied with the directive were removed from the strike-off list, while those that failed to meet the requirements were deemed dissolved. “It is illegal to transact or enter into agreements with a company that has been dissolved,” the CAC warned. A comprehensive list of the dissolved entities is available on the commission’s website.

Among the delisted companies are notable names like Dunlop Nigeria Industries Sales Limited, Mitsubishi Shoji Kaisha Limited, Marina Investment Limited, and Jolly Food Industries. The CAC noted that companies removed from the register are considered dissolved from the date of publication, emphasising its commitment to maintaining an accurate and active corporate registry.
