FRSC Corp Marshal Seeks NBA’s Collaboration Towards Driving Objectives Of The Commission

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, FCNA,CPA paid a courtesy call on the President of NBA, Mr. Y.C. Maikyau, SAN, OON today, 3 April, 2023.

During the visit, the Corp Marshal sought the Association’s collaboration/partnership towards driving the objectives of the commission in maintaining the safety of traffic infrastructures, checking road-worthiness of vehicles and commuters; raising driver’s education as well as minimising the incidents of road accidents.

The President of NBA called for a minute silence in honour of a beloved learned brother (silk) and friend, Mr Etukwu Onah SAN, who died following a ghastly motor accident on the 1st April, 2023 and all other Nigerians that have lost their lives as a result of car crashes on Nigerian Highways.

In furtherance of the partnership with the Commission, the NBA President instituted a committee to handle various forms of litigation that may arise from road traffic offences, and to seek compensation for victims of these car crash offences and/or their families.

The NBA President said the intervention is to enable car crash victims and bereaved families of road traffic crashes have access to justice and adequate compensation from the Courts, as this will also serve as deterrent to negligent drivers on Nigerian roads.

The committee is to be chaired by Mr U. O. Sule SAN and to be comprised of Mr Bullus Atsen, Esq together with the NBA Chairmen of Suleja, Keffi, Liberty branch (Garki) and the Nyanya/Karu (newly created branch of the NBA).
