Former NNPP Chairman Rambi Ayala Joins APC, Cites Democratic Benefits

Rambi Ayala, former chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Gombe State, has officially resigned from the party and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ayala was formally received into the APC on Monday, February 3, by Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Yahaya. Speaking at the event, the governor welcomed Ayala and his supporters, emphasizing that the APC promotes inclusivity and treats all members equally, regardless of when they join.

Explaining his decision to leave the NNPP, Ayala stated that he believes the APC provides better access to democratic dividends and offers greater opportunities to serve the people.

“We decided to rejoin the APC to complement Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s efforts in providing the dividends of democracy across the nook and crannies of the state to our people,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the governor for the warm reception and commended his administration’s commitment to developing Gombe State.

Representing the governor, the Commissioner for Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, Mohammed Fawu, described Ayala’s defection as a win for democracy, adding that his move strengthens the APC’s presence in Tangale Waja.

“With the coming of Hon. Rambi onboard, APC is getting more grounds in Tangale Waja,” Fawu stated.
