Falana Takes Over Murdered OAU Student’s Case

Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has taken over the prosecution of the murder case of Timothy Adegoke, a Master’s student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

This was made known in a statement by the Osun State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwafemi Akande, who revealed that the chamber of Femi Falana (SAN) had applied for fiat to take over the process.

According to the statement, the family of the deceased also wrote to the office of the Attorney-General to allow Femi Falana take over the prosecution, which was granted.

The statement added, “The alleged case of murder was first investigated by the Osun State police command, but was later taken over by the IGP’s office in Abuja.

“After the investigation, the police filed criminal charges against the suspects in Abuja. “The case was later moved to Osogbo by the Nigeria Police.

“While the police prosecutors were prosecuting the case, the deceased’s family’s counsel, Falana and Falana and Co, watched brief for the victim and witnessed the proceedings.
