Enugu Pastor Allegedly Murders Four Siblings With Pestle In Igbo-Eze

A horrific tragedy struck Ibagwa-Aka community in Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Enugu State over the weekend. A self-proclaimed pastor reportedly killed four siblings with a pestle, leaving residents in deep shock and mourning.

Authorities identified the victims as Kamsiyochukwu (7), Ezinne (6), Ujunwa (5), and Chinedu (2), all children of the Ezema family. A spiritualist and sabbath pastor, known to the family and living in the area, allegedly committed the killings.

Eyewitnesses said the attack occurred without warning. The motive behind the act remains unknown. The Enugu State Police Command has launched a full investigation into the incident.

Community members described the children as peaceful and playful. They said the Enugu pastor had previously presented himself as a spiritual helper to the family.

Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government, Ferdinand Ukwueze, visited the grieving family and condemned the murders. He promised that the suspect would face the full weight of the law.

“This is a painful and senseless crime,” Ukwueze said. “The law must take its course, and justice must be served for the victims.”

Security operatives arrested the suspect and are currently holding him for questioning. Also, authorities have reported the case to relevant state officials.

Local residents held a candlelight vigil in memory of the children. They called for swift prosecution of the Enugu pastor responsible for the attack.

Clerics in the area expressed shock at the involvement of a fellow religious leader. They urged law enforcement to ensure no sacred title shields criminals.

Officials have deposited the children’s bodies at the mortuary, while the family awaits funeral arrangements. The Enugu State Government has not issued an official statement but is expected to intervene in the case.
