6th of February is always a remarkable day in the life of amiable learned silk, Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau. It is the day he heralded his presence on planet earth; and is also the day he chose to walk down the aisle with his darling wife, more than 20 years ago.
It is obvious that colleagues, family and friends stayed awake in order to go live at 12 midnight with several birthday messages, wishing him well and expressing how much the learned silk had imparted their lives. Happy birthday to an Honourable Gentleman, Y. C. Maikyau. I met this humble high achiever last year during a NEC meeting. We had been invited to an evening out with him at his business premises. I went there in the company of Reginald Ugwuadu who knew him well. So at a convenient time I tapped De Reginald and asked him to point out the gent for me and he pointed in the direction of the tall, well clad gent who had personally cut out and served me with a plate of ram suya!
