“Elections, Not €rections”: Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Fires Back At Akpabio With Scathing Satirical Apology

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has reignited political drama with a blistering satirical “apology” addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, mocking recent tensions between them.
In a letter dripping with sharp wit and sarcasm and posted on her verified instagram handle, Akpoti-Uduaghan “apologized” for the “grievous crime” of maintaining dignity and self-respect in the face of what she described as unwritten expectations of compliance.
“I have reflected extensively on my unforgivable failure to recognize that legislative success in certain quarters is apparently not earned through merit, but through the ancient art of compliance – of the very personal kind,” the Senator wrote.
She continued, lacing her words with biting humor, “I must apologize for prioritizing competence over capitulation, vision over vanity, and the people’s mandate over private dinners behind closed doors.”
In one of the most explosive lines, she quipped, “Please find it in your magnanimous heart – somewhere buried deep beneath layers of entitlement – to forgive this stubborn woman who mistakenly believed that her seat in the Senate was earned through elections, not erections.”
The letter, signed “Yours in eternal resistance,” ends with the senator declaring herself “Unafraid, Unbought, and Unbroken.”
The satirical apology is widely seen as a bold and unapologetic response to political intimidation allegedly aimed at silencing dissenting voices within the Senate.
Since its release, the letter has triggered a firestorm of reactions on social media, with many praising Akpoti-Uduaghan’s courage and sharp wit in confronting what she portrays as the entrenched culture of entitlement and sexism in Nigerian politics.
As tensions continue to rise within the National Assembly, this letter is poised to become a rallying cry for advocates of accountability, gender equality, and fearless leadership.
