The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, recently escaped death as a section of the state’s High Court complex collapsed on him while he was in his office.
He is said to be currently receiving medical attention at an undisclosed hospital in the state.
The incident happened around close of work on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 just as the judge was rounding up for the day from his chambers.
The incident might be linked with a structural deficit worsened by the torrential rainfall in the state. Thankfully no life was lost as a result of the collapse, but Adeyeye sustained a serious injury as part of the office collapsed on him.
Serious efforts by workers in the Judge’s chambers proved helpful as he was rescued from the rubble.
Journalists who visited the registrar’s office to gather more information about the incident were asked to return later.
