EFCC, NCS Strengthen Collaboration In Abuja

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCS) have both reaffirmed their commitment to stronger collaboration in tackling economic and financial crimes.

Speaking on Thursday, March 27, 2025, during a courtesy visit by the Comptroller of Corrections, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olatubosun Ajibogun, the Acting Zonal Director of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC (ACE I) Michael Wetkas, emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation.

“Law enforcement cannot be effectively carried out by a single agency. Collaboration, both locally and internationally, is essential for meaningful progress. Your visit demonstrates a shared commitment to advancing our services and the nation as a whole,” Wetkas stated.

Ajibogun highlighted recent developments within the Correctional Service, noting its focus on skill acquisition, reformation, and rehabilitation.

He also urged the EFCC’s legal team to consider non-custodial sentencing options and ensure appropriate correctional placement for convicts.

Both agencies (EFCC and NCS) reiterated their dedication to enhancing synergy in the fight against corruption and ensuring a more effective justice system in Nigeria.
