Covenant University Announces Job Recruitment Drive For Its Law Faculty

Covenant University, Ota, has opened applications for academic positions in its Law faculty, as part of its Vision 7:2030 expansion plan. The university announced that the recruitment will support the establishment of its new College of Law, set to commence full-time operations.
According to the announcement, the university seeks candidates with strong academic records, professional experience, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service. Qualifications and Experience
Professor
- PhD in Law with a relevant specialization.
- Minimum of twelve years of full-time post-qualification teaching and research experience.
- Proven research record, publications, leadership, and mentoring experience.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association and preferably NALT or a similar body.
Reader (Associate Professor)
- PhD in Law in a relevant area.
- Minimum of nine years of teaching and research experience.
- Proven publication record, leadership, and supervisory experience.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association and other relevant professional associations.
Senior Lecturer
- PhD in Law in a relevant area.
- Minimum of six years of university teaching and research experience.
- Evidence of publications and ongoing research.
- Demonstrated teaching ability, research strength, and leadership potential.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association and preferably NALT.
- Postgraduate supervision and service records will be an added advantage.
Lecturer I
- PhD in Law in a relevant area.
- Minimum of three years of teaching or legal practice at the university level or equivalent.
- Good publication record and research potential.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association.
- Candidates with an LL.M and strong experience may be considered if enrolled in a PhD programme.
Lecturer II
- LL.M in Law from a recognized institution.
- Good first degree in Law (minimum of Second Class Upper) and call to the Bar.
- Strong teaching and research potential with evidence of PhD enrolment or readiness.
- Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association is mandatory.
