Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo and her long time heartthrob Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa are now formally married. The couple tied the knot in court earlier in the week and the internet can’t seem to get enough of the latest couple in town.
The gospel singer posted this on her verified Instagram account, getting fans, colleagues and well wishers to fill the comment section with congratulatory messages, while some warned her to keep her relationship and marriage away from hawks in the entertainment industry.
Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur Obi Cubana, OAP and presenter Toke Makinwa, WAP executive producer Wale Adenuga and other bigwigs in the industry showed their love for the newlyweds and prayed for the union to bear good fruits. Some comments however were not so palatable, one user wrote, ”may Mercy Aigbe not come into your marriage.”
Mercy Chinwo is one of the most celebrated gospel singers in the country. The thirty-one year old was the winner of Nigerian Idol season 2 and has since then stamped her feet as a major stakeholder in the Nigerian entertainment scene.
