Court of Appeal Reserves Judgement In Emerging Markets Telecommunications Ltd (Etisalat Nigeria) v. Pastor Nmadu Ken

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal yesterday, reserved judgment in the matter between Etisalat Nigeria and Pastor Ken Nmadu.

The appeal came up for hearing on the 6th of April, 2022 at the Court of Appeal Abuja Division.

Counsel to the Appellant/ Cross Respondent was not in court though the Appellant’s (Etisalat Nigeria) representative, Ibrahim Shagagu (head of Legal, Abuja) was present in court.

Upon enquiry by the Court as to why his counsel was absent and what he wants in the circumstance, Mr Shagagu appealed to the court to adopt the briefs filed by his counsel, were unavoidably absent.

The Respondent/Cross Appellant counsel, Nwabueze Obasi-Obi indicated his readiness to proceed with the hearing, having also filed all briefs.

The Honourable Court relying on the Rules of Court, adopted the Appellant/ Cross Respondents’ Briefs and asked N. Obasi-Obi to proceed.

N. Obasi – Obi, Esq. who led other Counsel from the office of Y. C. Maikyau & Co, appeared for for the Respondent/Cross Appellant and adopted the Respondent/Cross Appellant’s Briefs. Following the adoption of the briefs, the Appeal and Cross Appeal were reserved for judgement.

Recall that TML had reported earlier that the Respondent/Cross Appellant, as Plaintiff had brought a case of Breach of Duty against the Appellant/Cross Respondent, and won at the trial court. READ HERE
