Court Grants Bail Of ₦100 Million Each To Sirika, Daughter, And Two Others

Former Aviation Minister, Hadi Sirika, along with his daughter and two others, have been granted bail in the sum of ₦100 million each by a Federal High Court in Abuja. The bail follows allegations of suspected fraud amounting to ₦2.7 billion.
In addition to the bail amount, the court stipulated that each of the defendants must provide two sureties who possess landed property in Abuja. These sureties are required to be responsible citizens and must swear to an affidavit of means.
Furthermore, the court imposed restrictions on the accused, prohibiting them from traveling overseas without prior authorization from the court. Justice Oriji, the presiding judge, warned that failure to adhere to the bail conditions would result in the defendants being remanded in prison.
The sureties, according to the court’s ruling, must possess legitimate titles to landed properties in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The trial proceedings are scheduled to commence on the 10th, 11th, and 20th of June.
