“Consider The Bar Within The Context Of The Nation When Elected NBA President” – Prof. Onje Gye Wado Admonishes Y. C. Maikyau, SAN, Congratulates Him In Advance
Foremost NBA Presidential aspirant, Yakubu Chonoko (Y. C) Maikyau, SAN and his friends arrived Keffi and in company of the Branch Chairman, Yakubu Moses Ede paid a courtesy visit to Prof. Onje Gye Wado (Former Deputy Governor of Nasarawa State, Former Dean of the Nasarawa State University Faculty of Law and Dean Faculty of Law Birmingham University)
Y. C Maikyau SAN informed Prof. Onje that he was in Keffi to interact with colleagues from the branch and when he was informed that the learned Professor was around, he deemed it fit to stop by and greet him before proceeding to the venue of the interaction, as a sign of respect to the erudite Professor of Law. Y C Maikyau further thanked Prof. for the audience granted him and his friends.
In his response, Prof. Onje expressed his happiness for the visit and informed Y.C. Maikyau that in view of his background and considering where he comes from, he has no doubt that YC has the capacity to do the job.
He admonished YC Maikyau SAN to consider NBA within the context of what is happening in the Nation when elected as its President. He said Lawyers are the engine of change and in expressing his support added that, “For us at the Nasarawa Bar, we consider the one who comes to us. It is always good to trust someone that comes to you and is available, should I already say, Congratulations? Congratulations!!!”
