Bulus Atsen-Led NBA Abuja Faction Suffers Huge Blow As Likko, Olufon Withdraw From Proposed Elections

The Electoral process for the 2022 Branch Elections of the Bulus Y. Atsen-led faction of the NBA Abuja Branch has suffered a terrible blow as the powerful Legal Adviser of the Branch O.B.A. OLUFON, ESQ. and the very influential Financial Secretary, LIKKO AL BASHIR LAWAL, FNILA withdraw from the race.

The Financial Secretary of the branch and Principal Partner, Likko & Associates, Mr Al-Bashir Lawal Likko gave notice of his withdrawal from the election to the post of Secretary.

In a letter addressed to the The Secretary, Electoral Committee of the NBA Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) and obtained by The Metro Lawyer (TML), Likko cited his reasons for withdrawal as “…pertinent and overriding assignments”, and commended the committee for their commitment and hardwork.

In a related development, the Legal Adviser of the branch, Sir O. B. A. Olufon, Esq. who had submitted his nomination form to vie for the position of Vice Chairman of the branch, has also sent a notice to abjure from the electoral process.

The letter also obtained by The Metro Lawyer (TML) and addressed to the Secretary of the Committee cited pertinent and overriding assignments as reason for Olufon’s withdrawal.

The elections into executive positions into the NBA Abuja branch (Unity Bar) are scheduled to take place on the 9th of June, 2022.
