Everyday should be a day for celebrating women because of their extraordinary contributions to the society despite the unfavourable odds in their paths.
The campaign theme of this year’s celebration of International Women’s Day “Break the Bias” is apt given the global trend of events. Although for me, the bias was broken long ago by several women achievers. What is remaining is for the set bar to be continuously sustained and improved in all ramifications.
From the girl child, to the strong lady and the astute woman, there’s no match for a determined woman because “A strong woman is a woman determined to do something others are determined not be done.” – Marge Piercy.
Congratulations to all women on today’s celebration, you were indeed beautifully and wonderfully made.
