Book Launch: Justice Uwaifo Urges Judiciary To Uphold A Just Society

Retired Supreme Court Justice S.O. Uwaifo has emphasised the judiciary’s crucial role in shaping a just society as he prepares for the public presentation of his book, “Justice Uwaifo: A Legacy of Jurisprudential Wisdom and Substantive Justice.”
Expressing his excitement over the publication, Justice Uwaifo stated, “I hope this work inspires continued discourse on the role of the judiciary in shaping a just society. The law, when interpreted with courage, integrity, and wisdom, can truly serve as a force for good.”
The book presentation is scheduled for February 19, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos. According to the program:
- Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor, former Governor of Edo State, will chair the occasion.
- Prof. Fabian Ajogwu (SAN), Senior Partner at Kenna Partners, will review the book.
- Mr. Kanu Agabi (SAN), former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, will unveil and launch the publication.
The preface author, O.A. Omonuwa (SAN), highlighted Justice Uwaifo’s legacy, noting that his judgments, many of which have become seminal cases, have significantly influenced legal interpretation in areas such as constitutional rights, commercial disputes, criminal justice, and administrative law.
“This book is not merely a record of his decisions but a testament to the enduring principles of justice that he upheld with distinction,” Omonuwa added.
