Barbara Tosan Onwubiko, Esq. Congratulates NBA Members Appointed To National Committees
Barbara Tosan Onwubiko, Esq., Immediate Past Vice Chairman of the Gwagwalada (Eagle Bar) Branch, has extended her heartfelt congratulations to the distinguished members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) who have been appointed to various National Committees. Onwubiko expressed particular joy in recognizing the following appointees:
1. Chief Emeka Obegolu, SAN, President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, appointed as Chairman of the Annual General Conference Planning Committee.
2. Mr. Jibrin Samuel Okutepa, SAN, appointed as Alternate Chairman of the Adjudicator Review National Committee (ARC).
3. Prof. Joy Ngozi Ezeilo, SAN, Founder of WACOL (Women’s Aid Collective Limited), appointed as Chair of the Justice Sector Reform National Committee.
4. Nuhu J. Egya, Chairman of the NBA Keffi Branch, appointed as Chairman of the Citizens and Liberties National Committee (CLC).
5. Isah Abubakar Aliyu, past Chairman of the Gwagwalada Branch, appointed as Secretary for the NBA National Litigation Committee (North).
6. Augustine Nwabueze Eseagwu, past Chairman of the Asaba Branch, appointed as Secretary for the Local Government Monitoring National Committee.
7. Chinedu Obienu, past Secretary of the Abuja Branch, appointed as Secretary of the LPDC Rules Watch National Committee.
Onwubiko emphasized that the appointments reflect the appointees’ capabilities and the confidence placed in them by the NBA President to elevate the Bar to greater heights.
She also commended the NBA President for the swift establishment of these committees and the selection of such capable leaders to head them. Onwubiko expressed particular elation at the formation of the Justice Sector Reform National Committee, the NBA National Litigation Committee, and the Citizens and Liberties Committee, noting their critical mandates. She expressed confidence that this administration will remain dedicated to upholding the core values of the NBA.
