Augustine Alegeh To Deliver Presidential Dinner Speech At NBA AGC 2025

 

The Nigerian Bar Association has confirmed that Augustine Alegeh, SAN, will deliver the Presidential Dinner Speech at the 2025 AGC.

The prestigious dinner is scheduled for Monday, August 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM in Enugu.

Organizers explained that Augustine Alegeh, a past NBA President, embodies excellence and leadership that continue to inspire the legal profession.

Born on August 10, 1964, Alegeh hails from Ikabigbo in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.

He attended St. George’s Primary School, Lagos, and Edo College, Benin City, before earning his Law degree from the University of Benin.

In 1986, he was called to the Nigerian Bar, distinguishing himself with the Bola Ajibola Prize for Civil Procedure.

Over the years, he built a thriving practice as Founding Partner of A.O. Alegeh & Co., with offices in Lagos, Benin, and Abuja.

Appointed a Notary Public in 1991 and elevated to Senior Advocate of Nigeria in 2007, he also became a Fellow of CIArb, UK.

He is an alumnus of Keble College, Oxford University, and has contributed significantly to local and international legal development.

Beyond private practice, he served as NBA President, a member of the National Judicial Council, and a Life Bencher.

The Nigerian government recognized him with the Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), while Rivers State honoured him with the DSSRS.

The NBA Planning Committee described his speech as an inspiring highlight that will unite lawyers, policymakers, and stakeholders in celebration.

The Presidential Dinner will also reflect on the conference theme, “Stand Out, Stand Tall,” encouraging lawyers to embrace bold leadership.

Delegates anticipate a speech that will blend reflection with inspiration, marking another milestone in the association’s annual conference tradition.
