As Mazi Afam Osigwe Turns 50!
Senior lawyer and Principal Partner of Law Forte, an Abuja based law firm, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN turns 50 today and social media went agog to celebrate the amiable and highly cerebral learned Silk.
Activities leading up to his golden jubilee celebration started on Friday October 21, 2022 with an Interactive Session with Young Lawyers having the theme: “MAO@50: Precious Gems from the Journey So Far” which was held in his honour.
On Saturday October 22, 2022 there was a Novelty Football Match between Law Forte Chambers and the Abuja Lawyer’s League at the King’s Turf Arena, Zone 3, Wuse, Abuja.
Monday October 24, 2022 had the Golden Boy visit the City of Refuge Orphanage Home opposite Living Faith Church, Durumi, Abuja where the Senior Advocate shared foodstuff and other goodies with the orphans at the home.
The finale of the celebration will be a Barbecue & Birthday party, which is scheduled to be held at the A-Class Park and recreation Centre, Kashim Ibrahim Way, Wuse II, Abuja by 6pm, today 25th of October, 2022.

Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN (MAO) is a well known name in legal circles. He has been involved in diverse research and litigation in different areas of the law including but not limited to Corporate and Business Law; Land law, Banking law, Intellectual Property; International Commercial Law, Telecommunications, Energy, Oil and Gas Law; Domestic arbitration, International Commercial Arbitration etc. He is also the Company Secretary/ Legal Adviser of many companies. He has continued to appear as a counsel in many arbitral proceedings as well as sat as a sole arbitrator or member of arbitral tribunals in commercial disputes.
MAO’s relationships with the Bar and the Bench both at Local and international levels is next to none. He was the Publicity Secretary of Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja from 2006-2008. Thereafter, he became the Chairman of the branch from 2010- 2012. Infact, he was the last person to hold office as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abuja Branch (Unity Bar) for the whole of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja. Bwari and Gwagwalada branches were created during his tenure as Chairman of the Unity Bar.
He was sworn in as the General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association in August 2014 and held that position till the expiration of his tenure on August 26, 2016.
MAO is a member of the General Council of the Bar and a Life member of the Body of Benchers of Nigeria. He is a prolific writer, orator, discussant and public affairs analyst. He has presented papers at many conferences of the NBA and other programs.
