APC’s Monday Okpebholo Declared Winner Of Edo Governorship Election By INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday, September 21.

INEC’s Returning Officer, Prof. Faruk Kuta, revealed that Okpebholo secured 291,667 votes, defeating Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Asue Ighodalo, who garnered 247,274 votes, and Labour Party’s Olumide Akpata, who finished third with 22,763 votes. Fourteen other candidates contested but received fewer votes than the top three contenders.

Prof. Kuta, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, declared, “Okpebholo Monday of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
