Anambra State Poised To Lead In Automation Of High Courts And Ministry Of Justice

Anambra State is on the brink of making history as the first state in Nigeria to achieve full automation of its thirty-one High Courts and the Ministry of Justice. This groundbreaking announcement was made by Professor Sylvia Ifemeje, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Anambra State.
Professor Ifemeje revealed this milestone during the 2024 Law Week of the Aguata branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, where she was honored with the “Amazon of the Frontline Bar” award. Expressing gratitude, she dedicated the recognition to Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Under Governor Soludo’s administration, Anambra State has embarked on extensive initiatives to modernize the justice sector. Apart from the automation of High Courts and the Ministry of Justice, the state government is overseeing massive renovations of justice outstations in Nnewi, Awka, Onitsha, and Otuocha.
These innovative projects are aligned with Governor Soludo’s commitment to ensuring the swift dispensation of justice. Additionally, the state government has implemented solar installations across all High Courts, the Court of Appeal, and Federal High Court in Anambra. Furthermore, all four Correctional Service Centers in the state have been equipped with solar power.
In a bid to enhance accessibility and efficiency, virtual hearing facilities have been deployed in all High Courts and Correctional Service Centers across Anambra State. These advancements mark significant strides towards a more technologically driven and responsive justice system in the state.
