Akinboro, Badejo-Okusanya, Akangbe, Dada-Lawanson Set To Offer Peep Into The Future At NBA AGC 2025

 

The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has announced that four distinguished legal minds will speak on the topic “A Peep into the Future” at its 2025 Annual General Conference in Enugu.

Aare Olumuyiwa Akinboro, SAN, FCIArb (UK), FCIMC, will be one of the speakers at the session. He is a Life Bencher, Harvard-trained negotiator, and founder of Akinboro & Co, a top law firm with offices in Abuja, Lagos, and Port Harcourt.

Joining him is Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, a litigation, arbitration, and ADR specialist at ALP NG & Co. She chaired the 2024 NBA Annual General Conference Planning Committee and is a SAN-designate. Her expertise spans domestic and international disputes, and she is an active member of global arbitration bodies.

Also speaking is Lateef Omoyemi Akangbe, SAN, Managing Partner at Sofunde, Osakwe, Ogundipe & Belgore. With over two decades of legal experience, he is known for resolving high-stakes disputes and championing human rights and gender equality.

The fourth speaker, Prof. Foluke Dada-Lawanson, is a Professor of Human Rights and Technology with over 30 years in academia and legal practice. She has led international collaborations, secured grants, and mentored numerous legal scholars.

The session is expected to examine Nigeria’s legal, social, and governance landscape, offering a collective peep into the future of the profession and the nation. The NBA describes it as a thought-provoking highlight of the conference, attracting lawyers, academics, policymakers, and civil society leaders.

It is widely noted within legal circles that all four speakers are potential contenders for the NBA presidency for the 2026-2028 term, zoned to the West, including Edo and Delta States. Their perspectives at the session may provide early indicators of their vision for the association’s future.
