AGF Urges Lawyers To Embrace Partnerships For Enhanced Practice
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), has called on legal practitioners in Nigeria to adopt partnership models in their practice. Speaking at the inauguration of the Law Corridor’s new multi-million-naira office complex and the launch of a book on the “Modern Nigerian Legal System” in Abuja, Fagbemi highlighted the benefits of partnerships in the legal profession, including enhanced expertise, increased capacity, and improved risk management.
The Law Corridor, which boasts a leadership team including Managing Partner Pelumi Olajengbesi, Lead Partner Henry Kelechukwu Eni-Otu, and Deputy Managing Partner Ganiyu Ajibola Bello, was praised for fostering collaboration.
Fagbemi emphasized that individual law firms operating in isolation miss out on the advantages of pooled knowledge. “Partnerships bring together lawyers with diverse expertise, fostering comprehensive legal solutions and promoting creativity in jurisprudence,” he stated during his address on “Leveraging Partnership for Growth in Nigerian Legal Practice.”
He noted that partnerships facilitate knowledge transfer, where seasoned practitioners mentor younger lawyers who, in turn, contribute innovative perspectives. Fagbemi also pointed out that partnerships promote sustainability, accountability, and resilience, allowing firms to tackle challenges collectively and meet client expectations effectively.
“Clients seek not only expertise but teams that understand their needs and provide holistic services,” he added.
Chief Adegboyega Awomolo (SAN), Chairman of the Body of Benchers and chair of the event, urged Law Corridor’s partners to prioritize trust and uphold ethical integrity as key principles of their practice.
Managing Partner Pelumi Olajengbesi described the Law Corridor as an innovative and versatile legal firm committed to high standards of practice across both traditional and modern legal fields. He affirmed the firm’s dedication to due diligence and building lasting client relationships.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
