AfBA Leaders Visit Ghana In Preparation For 2025 Annual Conference

 

The leadership of the African Bar Association (AfBA) has visited Ghana to advance preparations for the 2025 AfBA Annual Conference.

On April 28, 2025, the AfBA delegation began their day in Accra with a courtesy visit to the Acting Chief Justice of Ghana, His Lordship Justice Baffoe-Bonnie. Also present were Supreme Court Justices Gabriel Pwamang and Tanko Amadu.

The AfBA team was led by its President, High Chief Ibrahim Eddy Mark, accompanied by AfBA Vice President Rudolf Ezeani and Executive Director, among others. Discussions centered on collaboration and support ahead of the upcoming conference.

Later, the AfBA leaders met with officials of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) at the GBA Secretariat in Accra, Ghana. They were warmly received by the GBA President, Mrs. Efua Ghartey, and the National Secretary, Mr. Kwaku Gyau Baffour.

During the meeting, Mrs. Ghartey assured the AfBA team of GBA’s full support. “Ghana is ready to host a conference like no other,” she said.

High Chief Ibrahim Eddy Mark expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed AfBA’s commitment to working closely with Ghanaian colleagues.

“We are excited about the collaboration and confident Ghana will deliver an exceptional conference experience,” he said.

Also lending support during the visit was Justice Mene Ameghetar (rtd), a former President of the Ghana Bar Association, who commended the synergy between AfBA and GBA.

The visit highlighted the importance AfBA places on strategic partnerships across Africa. Ghana, with its rich legal tradition, stands as a key partner in making the 2025 AfBA Conference a landmark event.

The AfBA leadership expressed optimism that the Ghana Bar Association’s commitment would set a new standard for future conferences.
