The legal community in Anambra State was rocked by distressing news as Mr. Chukwubikem J.S. Azoro, Principal Partner at Clay & Amicus Solicitors and Secretary of the Idemili Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), was abducted on Saturday evening in Oye Agu Abagana around 8:30 pm.
In a strong condemnation of the barbaric act, Afam Osigwe, SAN, expressed deep sadness at the incident. Mr. Azoro, known for his dedication to justice and the rule of law, has been a steadfast leader in the legal profession. His abduction not only affects him and his family personally but also strikes at the core of the legal profession’s principles and values, Osigwe stated.
Osigwe called upon the relevant security agencies to take immediate action, mobilizing all resources to ensure Mr. Azoro’s swift and safe release. It is imperative, he emphasized, that those responsible for this reprehensible crime are apprehended and brought to justice expeditiously.
Highlighting the importance of prioritizing the safety of citizens, especially those serving critical roles in communities, Osigwe urged authorities to bolster security measures nationwide to prevent similar incidents in the future.
