Afam Osigwe Drums Up Support For Maikyau, Endorses Him For President

Former General Secretary of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN has endorsed Y.C. Maikyau, SAN for office of President of the NBA.
In a statement made available to The Metro Lawyer (TML), Osigwe said :
“As the election of the Nigerian Bar Association, draws near, I will, with full conviction and no hesitation, recommend and canvass support for Yakubu Chonoko (YC) Maikyau, to be the 31st President of the NBA.
My decision to support him is borne out of my conviction that NBA deserves to be led by a lawyer who will, in title alone, be called President, but in nature, conviction, vision, practice and antecedents, remain a reliable brother and friend to his professional colleagues regardless of status, age, calling or origin. He is such a lawyer.
I strongly believe that electing him as President will sustain the improvement in the standing of the Nigerian Bar Association. He will no doubt proactively address issues affecting lawyers, sustain improved welfare packages for lawyers, ensure good working environment of lawyers as well as ensure lawyers especially the young, aged and vulnerable lawyers continue to benefit from their membership of the Association”.
Y.C Maikyau SAN, is one of the 3 candidates running for office of President of the Nigerian Bar Association. The NBA national elections will take place on the 16th of July.
