Afam Okeke, Esq. Extends Goodwill Message To African Bar Association Delegates

I am delighted to extend my warm greetings and congratulations to the AfBA Community on the 2025 AfBA Annual Conference holden in the city of Accra. The theme “FOREIGN INTEREST IN AFRICA : EXPLOITATION OR INVESTMENT? is both timely and vital for Africa’s sustainable development.

This conference provides a critical platform for African Legal Practitioners to deliberate on how foreign aid has shaped Africa’s development trajectory, questioning whether it fosters genuine empowerment or deepens dependency.

I commend the leadership of AfBA for initiating this dialogue, which not only addresses these challenges but also explores innovative strategies for economic self-reliance and genuine empowerment across the continent.

From the caliber of speakers and discussants, I am certain that it will be a very thought provoking and rewarding conference

I wish all participants a fruitful and impactful conference, and I look forward to the insightful discussions that will emerge from this all important gathering.

Afam O. Okeke, Esq.
Life Member of the African Bar Association, Governing Council
