Human Rights Lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor Honored By African Centre For Good Governance

 

The African Centre for Good Governance and Human Development has recognized Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, a distinguished human rights lawyer and Principal Partner at I.C. Ejiofor & Co. (UgoChinyere Chambers), with the Outstanding Performance Award for his contributions to good governance and humanitarian development.

At an award ceremony held at UgoChinyere Chambers in Lagos, Mujaheed Sabitu Kode, Country Coordinator of the African Centre for Good Governance, praised Sir Ejiofor’s unwavering commitment to human rights advocacy and societal progress. He highlighted Ejiofor’s role in promoting justice, supporting Nigerian students, and empowering youth, urging other legal professionals to follow his example.

In his acceptance speech, Sir Ejiofor, renowned as the lead counsel for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.

“This honor reaffirms my lifelong dedication to justice, advocacy for the oppressed, and the pursuit of a fair society,” he stated.

Acknowledging his colleagues at I.C. Ejiofor & Co., he emphasized the collective effort behind their legal and advocacy work, from shaping policies to offering pro bono services.

“This recognition is not just for me but for the incredible team that makes our mission possible,” he added.

Sir Ejiofor reaffirmed his commitment to human rights and social justice, viewing the award as a renewed call to action.
