Gov. Eno Provides Operational Vehicles For Legislators, Judges

 

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has provided operational vehicles for members of the State House of Assembly and judges, aimed at enhancing their service delivery to the people of the state.

The vehicles were officially presented on Friday, with the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, representing the governor at the event.

According to Uwah, the additional vehicles for lawmakers were primarily to support their mobility needs, including those of their support staff and security personnel. He commended both the legislators and judges for their dedication to serving the state and assured them of continued cooperation among the arms of government.

As part of the initiative:
– All 26 state legislators received utility vehicles to supplement their existing SUVs.
– Judges in the state judiciary were provided with brand-new SUVs to facilitate their duties.

Governor Eno also announced a major welfare initiative for judges in the state, stating that construction of a Judges’ Quarters will commence next month. The new residential estate will feature 40 housing units equipped with recreational facilities and modern amenities, ensuring a conducive living environment for judicial officers.

Expressing appreciation on behalf of the State House of Assembly, the House Leader, Hon. Sunday Johnny, thanked Governor Eno for extending his welfare initiatives to the lawmakers. He assured that the legislature would continue to foster a strong working relationship with the executive and judicial arms of government.

Similarly, the Acting Chief Registrar of the Akwa Ibom State Judiciary, Affiong Usimkah, who received the vehicles on behalf of the judges, expressed gratitude for the gesture. She reaffirmed the judiciary’s commitment to ensuring justice, peace, and stability in the state.
