Governor Sule Dissolves Political Appointees, Swears In New SSG

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has dissolved all political appointees serving in his administration. The announcement was made on Friday, February 7, during a valedictory session at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House.

Addressing outgoing Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, and Personal Assistants, Governor Sule expressed gratitude for their contributions to the state’s development. He assured that some appointees may be considered for reappointment in other capacities.

In a related development, the Governor swore in a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Labaran Magaji, who previously served as Commissioner and Attorney General of the state.

Other newly appointed officials include the Sole Administrator of Udege Development Area (Nasarawa LGA) and the Chairman and Board Members of the College of Education, Akwanga.

Governor Sule urged the new appointees to work diligently in supporting his administration’s agenda.

This comes after the dissolution of the State Executive Council in January, with the Governor now forwarding a list of 16 commissioner nominees to the State House of Assembly for screening.
