NBA President Appoints Funke Akindele, Falz, Timi Agbaje And Others To Entertainment Law Committee

The President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, has appointed popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele, rapper and lawyer Folarin Falana (Falz), legal practitioner Timi Agbaje, and six others as members of the NBA Entertainment Law Committee.
The appointment, announced on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, was part of the official composition of various NBA committees under Osigwe’s leadership.
The Entertainment Law Committee will be chaired by veteran actor and lawyer Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, MFR, while music executive Audu Maikori will serve as the secretary.

Legal Backgrounds of Key Appointees:
– Falz (Folarin Falana): A graduate of the University of Reading, UK, with an LLB in Law, Falz was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012 after attending the Nigerian Law School, Abuja. He is the son of renowned human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN.
– Funke Akindele: A Nollywood actress and producer, Akindele holds a Law degree from the University of Lagos and an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.
– Timi Agbaje: A multi-talented lawyer, comedian, and digital marketer, Agbaje graduated with first-class honors from Obafemi Awolowo University and later achieved a double first-class from the Nigerian Law School (LL.B Hons, B.L.).
– Bobo Ajudua: A respected entertainment lawyer, Ajudua studied Law at the University of Essex before attending the Nigerian Law School in 2012. He previously worked with the Nigerian Football Federation and was the long-time lawyer of Nigerian music star Davido.
The newly appointed committee is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping entertainment law in Nigeria and addressing legal issues affecting the entertainment industry.
