Rihanna Attends A$AP Rocky’s Trial As Court Sketches Capture Her Presence

Music and fashion icon Rihanna was spotted in court on Thursday, January 30, supporting her partner, A$AP Rocky, as his criminal trial continued in downtown Los Angeles. The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, faces up to 24 years in prison if convicted.

For the second consecutive day, Rihanna, 36, made headlines not only for her presence but also for her signature stylish courtroom looks. According to the Associated Press (AP), she “[outshined] key testimony” during the proceedings.

A$AP Rocky has pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm in connection with the November 2021 shooting of his former friend, A$AP Relli (real name Terell Ephron) in Hollywood, California.

Throughout the hearing, Rihanna sat between A$AP Rocky’s mother, Renee Black, and his sister, Erika B. Mayers. Reports indicate she was quietly ushered into the courtroom before most attendees arrived.

Rihanna’s court appearance was captured in sketches, showing her with large hoop earrings and sleek black locks. As reported by TMZ, she was dressed in a button-up white top, skinny black tie, black work pants, and black pointy pumps.

Meanwhile, A$AP Rocky arrived in a black trench coat over a navy blue suit and black shoes.

A day prior, the Fenty Beauty mogul was seen in an all-black outfit, accessorized with gold jewelry, a handbag, and black-framed glasses, as she focused on evidence presented during Wednesday’s session.

The trial has been marked by heated exchanges between A$AP Relli and defence attorney Joe Tacopina. On Wednesday, Relli repeatedly questioned the defence’s line of questioning, prompting Judge Mark S. Arnold to call for a recess so his attorney could advise him on courtroom protocol.

At one point, A$AP Relli directly confronted A$AP Rocky shouting, “You did this to yourself!”

A$AP Rocky did not respond, but the judge immediately intervened, warning Relli, “Do not talk to the defendant!”

Relli defended himself, saying, “He’s staring at me!”

As the trial progresses, all eyes remain on A$AP Rocky’s defence and Rihanna’s unwavering support, with the Grammy winner continuing to make discreet but impactful appearances at court.
