Michael Cohen Pleads For Pardon From President Biden Ahead Of Trump’s Return To Power

Michael Cohen, a former attorney for President-elect Donald Trump, has appealed to outgoing President Joe Biden for a presidential pardon, citing fears of retaliation from Trump for his role in the hush money conviction against the politician.

Cohen, who previously served time for his involvement in the case, also acted as a key witness in Trump’s conviction last year on 34 felony counts tied to hush money payments. The case centered around a payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

With Trump set to return to the White House in a week, Cohen is urging Biden to extend a pardon similar to the one granted to his son, Hunter Biden. He argued that Biden has a responsibility to protect those targeted by Trump’s alleged vendettas.

“I submitted an application for a presidential pardon because I believe Joe Biden has the same responsibility to me that he has to his son,” Cohen stated. “I would expect the same exact pardon he gave his son to me and anyone on Trump’s ‘enemies list,’ whether they want it or not. Solitary confinement, where I spent 51 days, is unbearable.”

Cohen expressed surprise that Trump received what he described as an “unconditional release” during his own sentencing, contrasting it with his experience. His plea highlights the tension and uncertainty surrounding Trump’s anticipated return to the presidency and the potential consequences for those who opposed him.
