Activist Lawyer Tope Temokun Presents Christmas Cash Gifts To Indigent Neighbors And Clients
On Saturday, human rights activist and lawyer Tope Temokun Esq. brought festive cheer to his community in Akure, Ondo State, by presenting cash gifts to indigent clients and people living near his chambers. The generous gesture was part of a social gathering he organized to celebrate the holiday season with his friends, staff, and members of the local community.
The event, held at his Ondo Road office in Akure, was also an opportunity for Temokun to express gratitude to journalists who had supported his work throughout the year. He further enriched the occasion by hosting a lecture aimed at balancing work and wellness.
The lecture, titled “The Root Cause of Organizational Failure or Success”, was delivered by Dr. (Mrs.) Janet Olaseeni, a lecturer in the Psychology Department at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko. Dr. Olaseeni highlighted the importance of integrating social, managerial, and entrepreneurial functions without compromising personal goals and well-being. She also advised attendees to prioritize their wellness, stressing that one should not merely work to live, but rather work to live a fulfilling life.
In his address, Temokun explained that the gathering was his way of thanking those who had supported him and his chambers, especially during difficult times. He recalled how, on several occasions, local residents stood by him when security operatives surrounded his office, showing solidarity despite the disruptions caused by their presence.
Among the beneficiaries of the cash gifts were Segun, a client who was shot by Amotekun Corps operatives and later had his leg amputated, and Kemisola, a pregnant woman whom Temokun helped secure release from Olokuta Correctional Home after she was arrested during the #EndSARS protests.
Temokun stressed the importance of supporting the less fortunate, particularly given the current socio-economic challenges in Nigeria.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the lawyer’s generosity, noting that it was a thoughtful gesture during a difficult time, despite his busy schedule.
