Tinubu Appoints Acting Controller-General For Nigerian Correctional Service

 

 

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as the Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS). His appointment follows the conclusion of Haliru Nababa’s tenure, which began on February 18, 2021, under former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The announcement was made on Friday by Ja’afaru Ahmed, Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire, and Immigration Board. Ndidi’s appointment will take effect from December 15, 2024.

Ahmed stated, “The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has graciously approved the appointment of Nwakuche Sylvester Ndidi as Acting Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service following the expiration of the tenure of Haliru Nababa. His appointment takes effect from December 15, 2024.”

Born on November 26, 1966, in Oguta, Imo State, Ndidi previously served as Deputy Controller-General in charge of the Training and Staff Development Directorate. A distinguished fellow of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Ndidi also holds the national honor of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR).

President Tinubu urged Ndidi to leverage his extensive experience in his new role, ensuring continued progress and reform within the correctional service.
