Nigerian Immigration Lawyers Association (NILA) Congratulates President Chief (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge, SAN, On Honorary Doctorate From Veritas University
The Nigerian Immigration Lawyers Association (NILA) has extended warm congratulations to HRM, Chief (Prof.) Epiphany Azinge, SAN, the Asagba of Asaba and President & Chairman of NILA’s Board of Trustees, on his conferment of an Honorary Doctorate Degree by Veritas University, Abuja. This prestigious honour is set to be awarded at the university’s 13th Convocation Ceremony on November 9, 2024.
In a statement from Veritas University, signed by the Registrar Dr. (Mrs.) Stella C. Okonkwo, Chief Azinge’s selection for this honorary degree celebrates his remarkable contributions to Nigeria’s legal profession, as well as his foundational role in establishing and advancing legal studies at Veritas University.
The Governing Council of Veritas University, led by His Lordship Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, and the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Nigeria ratified the honor, emphasising Chief Azinge’s impact on legal education and his dedication to the Nigerian legal community.
NILA praised Chief Azinge’s commitment, which has enhanced the prestige of the association and inspired practitioners across Nigeria.
Chief Azinge will be conferred alongside other prominent honorees, including Archbishop Emeritus Alaba Job, Archbishop Anthony Obinna, and legal luminary Aare Afe Babalola, SAN.
The Convocation Lecture was delivered by Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, on November 7, 2024, ahead of the formal ceremony.
NILA expressed its profound pride in Chief Azinge’s recognition and looks forward to celebrating his achievements as he continues to be an exemplar of excellence and dedication within the Nigerian legal profession.
