Scandal Erupts As Equatorial Guinea’s Financial Crime Chief Baltasar Ebang Engonga Implicated in Explicit Recordings

Equatorial Guinea’s head of the National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF), Baltasar Ebang Engonga, is embroiled in a national scandal following the leak of explicit recordings featuring him in encounters with multiple women. The tapes, reportedly over 300 in number, allegedly include encounters with married women, among them the wife of the Presidential security head and Ebang’s own sister-in-law.

The recordings, reportedly filmed in locations such as his office, hotels, and public spaces, surfaced during a corruption investigation that initially led to Ebang’s detention. During the probe, authorities found the videos on Ebang’s personal devices and subsequently leaked them, triggering a wave of public outrage.

The scandal is especially controversial due to Ebang’s position and his personal life as a married man with six children. This incident has intensified scrutiny on the conduct of Equatorial Guinea’s officials and remains a focal point of national attention as further details unfold.
