VeryDarkMan Apologizes To Nigeria Police For Wearing Look-Alike Uniform
Social media personality Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has publicly apologized to the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) after posting a viral video in which he wore a costume resembling a police uniform and referred to himself as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP).
In a statement and video posted on his Instagram account on Wednesday, VeryDarkMan disclosed that he had been questioned at a police station regarding the video. He clarified his intent, stating, “I didn’t intend to impersonate the police in any way, and I tender my unreserved apologies to the Nigeria Police Force and the office of the Inspector General of Police.”
The influencer also urged the public to seek permission from law enforcement agencies before wearing clothing resembling official uniforms. “You might have good intentions, but there are others who could misuse such attire. It’s best to secure full approval before using anything that could appear as impersonation,” he advised.
VeryDarkMan’s apology serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting symbols of authority and the potential consequences of their misuse.
