ABU LL.B Class Of 1978 Donates N11 Million Solar Power System To Faculty of Law

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) LL.B Class of 1978 has donated a solar power system valued at N11 million to support the Faculty of Law, enhancing power reliability for lecture halls and staff offices. The project includes a 10KVA inverter system, 6.6KW solar panels, and a 30KW lithium battery backup.

The solar facility was officially presented to ABU Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Kabiru Bala, during a ceremony led by Prof. Auwalu Hamisu Yadudu, Deputy President of the Class of 1978, who highlighted that class members generously contributed funds to fulfill a pledge made during their July 2024 reunion. Prof. Yadudu underscored the class’s commitment to giving back to the faculty that shaped their careers, expressing hope that the donation would alleviate power disruptions and provide a better learning environment for current law students.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, expressed the university’s gratitude, noting the critical timing of the donation amid ongoing power challenges. He urged other alumni to emulate this effort to support the institution.

In attendance were notable alumni, including Danmasanin Zazzau, Alhaji Falalu Bello Esq., and Prof. Ibrahim Na’iya Sada, as well as the Dean of Law, Prof. Salim Bashir Magashi, who described the initiative as impactful and invaluable for the faculty.
