Deji Adeyanju To Atiku, Kwankwaso, And Obi: “Better To Bet On Sports Than Contest Against Tinubu In 2027”
Human rights lawyer and activist, Deji Adeyanju, has advised former presidential candidates Atiku Abubakar, Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi to reconsider their ambitions for the 2027 election, suggesting they stand little chance of defeating President Bola Tinubu, even if united.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Adeyanju remarked, “It is better for Atiku, Obi & Kwankwaso to use their money to play two odds on BetNaija than to contest against Tinubu & INEC.” He criticized Nigeria’s electoral process, alleging that vote counts can be manipulated, referencing the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) IREV portal.
Adeyanju further noted that the opposition’s best opportunity to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) was in the last election, had they joined forces. “Even if they all unite now, Tinubu & INEC will not lose an election Tinubu will conduct,” he added.
