CAC To Overhaul Structure For Enhanced Service Delivery

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced its plans to revamp its organisational structure in a bid to become a more customer-centric entity, catering to both national and international businesses. This was disclosed by the Registrar-General and CEO of the CAC, Hussaini Magaji, during the 2024 Management Retreat held in Jos, Plateau State, under the theme “Repositioning the Corporate Affairs Commission for Enhanced Service Delivery.”

In a statement released on Friday, the CAC reiterated its commitment to transforming into a global, customer-focused registry. Magaji highlighted the need for a complete restructuring of the commission’s current setup to better respond to evolving business needs.

“The CAC is a learning organisation, constantly ready to reinvent itself to meet both current and future demands, ensuring we maintain our customer-centric focus,” Magaji said. “The existing organogram must be entirely dismantled to pave the way for a more adaptable and dynamic structure that aligns with global realities.”

Magaji also stressed the importance of integrating technology to enhance service delivery and maintain pace with the changing needs of businesses. He urged participants at the retreat to focus not only on current customer requirements but to anticipate future demands, ensuring that the commission’s processes remain relevant in a fast-changing environment.

As part of the restructuring, Magaji revealed plans to overhaul the operations of the commission’s state offices, with a particular emphasis on post-incorporation compliance and enforcement activities. These offices will be converted into strategic compliance and enforcement centres, with staff receiving the necessary training and empowerment to perform their duties effectively.

A committee has been established to develop a blueprint for this transformation, drawing inspiration from best practices in countries such as Malaysia and China, while considering other international models with similar frameworks.

In his address, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, represented by the Commissioner for Trade and Industry, Musa Sule, commended the Registrar-General’s efforts to reform the CAC and highlighted the economic potential of Plateau State. Dr. Afiz Oluwatoyin Ogun, Director General/CEO of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), also praised Magaji’s dedication to transforming the commission, while former Deputy Executive Chairman of Jos North, Sani Mudi, expressed satisfaction with the CAC’s progress.

The CAC’s restructuring initiative is expected to position it as a leading regulatory body in line with global standards, improving service delivery for businesses across Nigeria.
