IPOB Lawyer Ejiofor Urges Immediate Action To Address Rising Insecurity In The South-East

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has expressed grave concerns over the escalating violence and insecurity in Anambra State and the wider South-East region. In a statement released over the weekend, Ejiofor called for urgent intervention from the Anambra State Government and other leaders across the South-East to address the growing wave of kidnappings, murders, and lawlessness.

Ejiofor highlighted that the daily reports of insecurity, particularly in Anambra, have reached a critical point, leaving citizens in constant fear for their safety. He urged Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, alongside political, traditional, and community leaders, to take swift and decisive action to halt the deterioration of peace and stability in the region.

“The escalating insecurity in the South-East, especially in Anambra State, has reached a critical and alarming state that demands immediate and urgent attention,” Ejiofor said. “The frequency of kidnappings, acts of violence, and widespread lawlessness has created an atmosphere of fear, leaving citizens in constant anxiety as they go about their daily lives.”

Ejiofor lamented that despite his repeated warnings and calls for preventive measures, little action had been taken to dismantle criminal networks in the region, leading to the current crisis. He noted that the situation is spiraling out of control and called for coordinated efforts to restore law and order.

“The security of our people and the future of our region must be the top priority,” Ejiofor emphasized. “Families are being torn apart, livelihoods are being destroyed, and the basic sense of safety we once knew is disappearing rapidly.”

He further urged the government and leaders to act without delay, stating that failure to do so would be an unacceptable betrayal of the people. “The choices made today will determine the future of our communities, and we owe it to future generations to make the right ones. The time for action is now.”

Ejiofor’s call reflects the growing concern among residents and stakeholders in the South-East, as insecurity continues to threaten the region’s stability and development.
