Law Classmates Of B.Y. Gambo, Esq. Share Solidarity Video, Dismiss Allegations Of Fraudulent Legal Practice

In the ongoing defence of Barrister B.Y. Gambo against allegations of being a “fake lawyer,” his former classmates from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria’s Law Faculty (class of 2006) have released a video and pictures showing their solidarity with him. The video, shared widely on social media, captures a visit by two of Gambo’s classmates, Lawrence Stephen Ijmdiya Esq., former class chairman, and Otiga David Okpanachi Esq., to B.Y. Gambo & Co., his thriving law firm located in the heart of Kano.

The video (see below) highlights the successful legal practice of Gambo, showcasing the vibrant office environment and the support he continues to receive from his former classmates. In a statement accompanying the video, Ijmdiya and Okpanachi emphasized their full backing of Gambo, describing him as a “fine gentleman and a successful practitioner.”

They wrote: “Live at B.Y. Gambo & Co., an evidently thriving Law Office in the heart of Kano, where the erstwhile Class Chairman of the 2006 Set, Law Faculty, Ahmadu Bello University, Mr. Lawrence Stephen Ijmdiya Esq., accompanied by Otiga David Okpanachi Esq., paid a solidarity visit to one of their own, B.Y. Gambo Esq., and assured him of the solidarity and support of the class.”

In a pointed response to the baseless allegations published online, the classmates added: “The faceless cowards and mischief makers have gone into oblivion and are drowning in the sorrow of their failed attempt to malign a fine gentleman and a successful practitioner.”

The visit follows a series of statements from Gambo’s peers, who have unequivocally debunked the allegations of identity fraud and malpractice. Gambo himself has maintained that the accusations are baseless and aimed at tarnishing his hard-earned reputation as a legal practitioner in Kano, where he has practiced for over 18 years.

The show of support from his classmates further strengthens Gambo’s position as a respected member of the legal community, with the alumni vowing to take legal action against the perpetrators of the false claims.

The video and pictures have been circulated widely, underscoring the overwhelming backing Gambo has received from his peers and reaffirming his credibility in the legal profession.
