Ondo Lawyer Arraigned for Alleged Will Forgery
The Ondo State police have arraigned a lawyer, Olusegun Agunloye, on charges of allegedly forging the Will of the late Benjamin Chibuzor Ejelonu and submitting it to the probate registry in Akure, the state capital.
Agunloye faces a two-count charge of conspiracy and forgery, which he is accused of committing on September 7, 2023. According to police prosecutor Nelson Akintimehin, Agunloye allegedly conspired with the deceased’s sister, Aminat Ijeoma Bakare, to forge the Will with the intent to defraud Oluwamodupe Ejelonu without her consent. The charges are said to violate Sections 516 and 467(2)(f) of the Criminal Code Law of Ondo State, 2006.
Agunloye pleaded not guilty to the charges. The prosecutor requested an adjournment to gather witnesses and consolidate the charges before the court. Presiding Magistrate Kolawole Aro granted the defendant bail in the sum of N2 million with two sureties.
