Johnny Agim, SAN Foundation Announces Scholarship Opportunity For Nigerian Law School Bar Part II 2024/2025 Session
The Johnny Agim, SAN Foundation (JASAN Foundation) is officially launching its Scholarship Programme and Competition, with an offering of an incredible opportunity for final-year law students in Nigeria. As part of the foundation’s launch, alongside “The Legacy Dialogue” and the inauguration of the #Legacy500 Elite Mentees, the JASAN Foundation is organising an essay competition aimed at benefiting 500 Level Law Students across Nigeria’s Federal and State Universities.
Essay Topic:
“The Role, Challenges, and Strategies of Mentorship in the Nigerian Legal Profession.”
This competition provides students with the chance to reflect on their academic journey, consider the legal practice opportunities ahead, and propose necessary mentorship strategies essential for their personal and professional growth within the legal sector.
Scholarship Details:
Ten applicants will be awarded scholarships to attend the mandatory Nigerian Law School Bar Part II program, covering the tuition for the one-year course. This prestigious scholarship offers a unique opportunity to pursue a legal career without the financial burden, alongside valuable mentorship and networking opportunities with top legal professionals.
Eligibility Criteria:
1. Must be a current 500 Level Law Student at a recognised Nigerian Federal or State University.
2. Must have a minimum of Second-Class Lower (2.2) Grade point.
3. Must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and potential.
4. Must show verifiable proof of financial need.
Application Requirements:
– 1 Page Formal Letter of Application
– 1 Page Personal Statement (Max. 500 words)
– Valid school or Faculty ID Card
– Verifiable proof of financial need
– Two 1-Page Reference Letters (including one from an academic referee)
– An essay of 1,500 to 2,000 words on the given topic
– A 3-minute video summarising and demonstrating the essay, to be posted on Instagram, tagging @_jasanfoundation, with the hashtag #Legacy500. A link to the video must be included in the letter of application and the cover email.
Submission Guidelines:
– Essays must be original and written in English.
– AI/Chat-GPT generated submissions will be disqualified.
– Entries must be submitted as a single document in both Word and PDF formats.
– Reference letters should be submitted as a single PDF document.
– All submissions must be free of any personal identification within the content.
