Pat Attah Sues TVC Over Defamatory Remarks About Relationship With Genevieve Nnaji

Nollywood actor Pat Attah has initiated legal action against TVC, a popular Nigerian television network, over alleged defamatory comments made about his relationship with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji. The lawsuit stems from remarks aired on the TVC show “Entertainment Splash” on August 8, 2023, where the hosts discussed Attah’s past relationship with Nnaji.

According to Attah’s legal representatives, the show’s hosts, including JayPaul (Mr. Flamez), Cassey Bashua Alimi, and Olayemi Ogunwole (Honeypot), falsely accused him of fabricating details about his relationship with Nnaji to gain publicity. The comments, widely circulated on social media and TVC’s platforms, portrayed Attah as dishonest, a clout chaser, and someone with questionable character.

Attah’s lawyers have demanded a retraction of the statements and a public apology to be broadcast on the same program and published in three national newspapers. Additionally, Attah is seeking N500 million in damages for the harm done to his reputation, profession, and family life.

TVC has been given 14 working days to comply with the demands, failing which Attah’s legal team will proceed to court.
