NBA President Announces Dissolution Of Committees And Formation Of Transition Committee

Following the recent successful election of new leaders of the association, Nigerian Bar Association President Yakubu Chonoko Maikyau, OON, SAN, has announced the dissolution of all Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees, with the exception of the 2024 Annual General Conference Planning Committee (AGCPC). This step is part of the transition process as the National Executive Committee (NEC) prepares for the new administration.

Additionally, the Governing Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE), whose term ended on March 18, 2024, has been dissolved. The former ICLE Chairman is requested to submit the Handover Report by August 9, 2024.

The Election Committee of the NBA (ECNBA) and the National Officers Election Appeal Committee (NOEAC) will continue to operate until they are reconstituted according to the NBA Constitution, 2015 (amended in 2021).

President Maikyau expressed deep gratitude to all committee members for their dedicated service and significant contributions. Their efforts have been greatly valued.

To ensure a smooth transition, President Maikyau has constituted the following Transition Committee:
