Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has imposed a 24-hour curfew in response to escalating violence and looting during the #EndBadGovernance protest. The curfew is effective immediately, as announced in a press conference held at the Kano State Government House.
The governor expressed deep concern over the protest’s derailment by hoodlums and thugs, who turned a peaceful demonstration into a scene of chaos and destruction.
Governor Yusuf emphasized that the curfew is crucial to safeguarding lives and properties across the state. “All security agencies have been directed to ensure full and immediate compliance with the curfew,” he stated.
Earlier on Wednesday, the governor had warned of potential disruptions, citing intelligence reports that suggested ill-intentioned individuals planned to hijack the protest for nefarious purposes.
